Beginnings

When we began dealing in true canvas transfers, we decided that we would sell nothing less that the absolute best canvassed art. Our prints come mostly from top United-States-based publishers and transferring them to canvas is a long, tedious process, but the end result speaks for itself.

Our owner, Anthony, practically invented the canvas transfer system in 1990 producing at best 30 a year till the year 1995.

After searching on the net, we discovered that the average price of most large and oversize canvassed art was over $400. In our opinion, we had the expertise to lower those costs. We wanted to provide a high quality of canvassed art but in a more reasonable range: with the majority of individual canvas arts falling between $79 to $239. The price should, rightly, depend on the size of the image. The use of metallic inks and the origin of the printed art also play a role in the price.

So we began offering online what was previously only available to people in the industry. A print publisher decided that the canvas medium would boost sales and DID IT EVER!! Now we produce in the tens of thousands of canvas transfers every year.

Each canvas transfer is BRAND NEW, finished with your choice of custom edge, back-stapled and packaged immediately with minimal handling and is considered as perfect as a canvas can be. Please note that slight shrinkage occurs with all edges.

1. Edge #1: 3/4 inch matte black canvas sides (regular wrap) also suited for framing
2. Edge #2: 1-1/4 inch matte black canvas sides (gallery box wrap) most popular
3. Edge #3: 3/4 inch image sides (regular image wrap) thinner image wrap
4. Edge #4: 1-1/4 inch image sides (gallery box image wrap) thicker image wrap
5. Edge #5: 3/4 inch image on both left and right sides and 3/4 inch matte black at top & bottom (semi-regular image wrap) retains height
6. Edge #6: 1-1/4 inch image on both left and right sides and 1-1/4 inch matte black at top & bottom (semi-gallery box image wrap) retains height

• The matte black edge #1 is recommended for eventual custom wood framing either with us (see frames section) or at your local artshop
• matte black edges #1 & #2, retains frontal image size
• Image edge #3, frontal size reduces down 3/4 inch all around and is placed unto the 4 sides
• Image edge #4, frontal size reduces down 1-1/4 inch all around and is placed unto the 4 sides
• Semi-image edges #5, & #6, is a compromise having an image edge on each of the left and right sides and the hardly seen top and bottom are black edged. (Giving you image wrap sides while retaining the full height)

The expensive matte/dull/satin textured canvassed black edge seems more like a darker gray since it has no shine. It is black thru and thru. It is guaranteed never to lift even slightly. It is not the glossy lumpy black that you may have seen with many canvasses which lifts and then shows white underneath. In our many years of research, the subtle dull black draws your eye toward the art whereas white sides dirty quickly and keeps pulling your eye toward the edge.

Unlike prints, canvases need not be framed. Best of all, canvases mount flush against the wall just by leaning the top stretcher bar against 2 small nails or screws as far apart as possible and perfectly aligned. No wires are needed at all.

Why should you purchase canvassed art instead of a print? There are many reasons:

1) Canvas has texture and catches light better than flat prints.
2) A transfer on canvas is a very durable product. Dusting and regular wiping will not damage the image.
3) Prints fade in ultraviolet light, however, under normal conditions, a canvas will retain its integrity and vibrant colors for generations.
4) Prints can crease and fold easily; canvas is more durable.
5) Canvas is light and easy to hang (no wires required, just set the underside of the wooden backing along two evenly aligned nails or screws)
6) Canvas just looks better hanging on a wall.

Because each beautiful canvas is carefully and lovingly custom-made and immediately packed for protection, please allow up to 10 working days for the making of the canvas and up to another 10 working days for delivery. Most canvassed packages reach their happy owners within 3 weeks unless there is a print back-order.
